Objectives of the Project
The objective of the Char Development and Settlement project-III Land Ministry's part is to improve the economic situation and living condition of the 9,5444 families in the costal areas in south eastern Bangladesh, with special reference to the poorest segment of the population
Land Ministry's Part are as follows:
a. To promote an institutional environment that sustains the proposed Char Development and Settlement Project-III (CDSP-III).
b. To accumulate and disseminate of data and knowledge on costal char development.
c. To improve the economic and social situation of the people in the costal char in a sustainable way.
d. To carry out the plot-to-plot survey of the project area to identify the status of the char land and people in possession.
e. To select landless families at the field level, scrutiny by the concerned Upazila Agricultural Khas land Settlement and Management Committee.
f. To rehabilitate the most destitute families in the Cluster Villages.
Location of the Project: Subarna char & Hatiya, Noakhali; Ramgati,
Lakshmipur; Mirsarai, Chittagong.
Implementation Period: July 2005 to December 2010
