Objectives of the Project
·
To assign the land to its best
possible uses like: agriculture, livestock, forestry, shrimp culture, natural
reserve and industrial development in order to get maximum economic benefits
from land resolving all conflicts of land uses;

To prevent (further) land
degradation and restore degraded lands;
·
To preserve and protect
eco-systems with high eco-systems with high quality ecological and culture
value;
·
To prevent and resolve conflict of
interest between different land users and line agencies;
·
To ensure that flora and fauna are
properly protected;
·
To grow awareness among the
planners, land users, policy makers and decision makers for rational use of
land resources;
·
To preserve places having culture
and heritage values;
·
To formulate Land Zoning Law and
Village Improvement Act; and
·
To prepare upazila-wise land
zoning maps and to develop Database and Land Zoning Information System.
Location of the Project: 19 Districts of the Coastal Area and 2 District of Plain Land
Implementation Period: July 2006 to December 2011
